Val Verde County residents have one last chance to vote in this November’s election. The final opportunity to vote is on election day, Tuesday November 4, 2025. Election day polls will be open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM at 7 different centers across the county, with a main voting location at the Del Rio Civic Center.
There have been many citizen concerns regarding this season’s proposed election items. Yet just over 5% of registered voters so far have turned out to vote and participate in the decision. This vote will directly impact the future of Del Rio’s finances, development, infrastructure, property taxes, and school district, and gives the power to the community to decide.
As of the close of voting on October 31, 1,753 people have voted so far in person. With more than 30,000 registered voters in Val Verde County, according to the Val Verde County elections website, this turnout represents approximately 5.84% of registered voters (excludes mail in or absentee ballots). Community leaders consistently say that voting is the most direct way for residents to make a difference. The school, county, and state are giving citizens the choice. Use your voice!
The election includes 17 propositions for the State of Texas Constitutional Amendment Election, with locally relevant propositions such as border town, school district, and senior citizen homestead tax exemptions as well as potential state funding for water infrastructure. A vote on preferences for the proposed International Bridge II in a three-part Val Verde County referendum in included on the ballot, and the $50M Bond Election proposed by San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District.
