During the month of March 2026, the Del Rio Police Department experienced an increase in motor vehicle burglaries throughout the city. During the investigation, officers recovered evidence at one of the scenes that led to the identification of a suspect. As a result, an arrest warrant was obtained for Jose Alfredo Reyes, 34 years of age.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The now-uninhabitable structure, a vacant home, is likely slated to be bulldozed to clear the area of safety risks.
