Del Rio Middle Students Uphold Campus Tradition by Designing Elaborate Christmas Light Exhibit

Students at Del Rio Middle School are upholding a campus tradition by designing an array of Christmas light displays inside their library. Librarian Ms. R .Ramon started the tradition several years ago and says it gets bigger and more elaborate each year.

This year’s arrangement features 9 different trees and themes based on Disney movies, all of which were designed and constructed by teams of students. “The assignment teaches teamwork and planning”, says Ms. Ramon. She says her students began the project in October, and are excited to finally reveal the fruits of their work to friends and family.

The dazzling display will be open to the public on Thursday, Dec 11th 5-7:30PM. Entry will cost just $1 per person and concession treats will be available to buy. Proceeds will go to Del Rio Middle School’s reading fund, which supports student-readers.
