Man Arrested Following Aggravated Assault Investigation

On February 5, 2026, at approximately 9:48 a.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of East Gutierrez Street.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a shirtless male subject outside the residence with visible blood on his hands and upper body. The male advised officers that he had assaulted a female inside the residence and requested that paramedics be called to the scene.

Officers entered the residence and located a female victim who had sustained serious facial injuries. Evidence of the assault was observed in multiple rooms throughout the residence. Val Verde Regional Medical Services responded and transported the victim to the hospital for medical treatment.

The male was identified as Lonnie Gonzalez, 37 years of age, and was arrested for the offense of Aggravated Assault Causing Bodily Injury. He was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing and was subsequently transported to the GEO Correctional Facility pending the magistration process.
