Del Rio, Texas — CASA of Val Verde is honored to announce it has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to support its initiative, “Outreach and Volunteer

Recruitment and Training.” This funding will enable CASA of Val Verde to host outreach events for current foster and kinship families, as well as organize recruitment, training, and equipping opportunities for new Volunteer Advocates who will serve foster children in Val Verde County.

This investment strengthens CASA’s mission to ensure that children in the foster care system have a trained, court-appointed advocate who stands by their side throughout their case. With the support of the Texas Bar Foundation, CASA of Val Verde will expand its capacity to reach more families, increase awareness, and build a strong network of Advocates dedicated to protecting the best interests of vulnerable children in our community.

“Having more trained Volunteer Advocates means more children and families within the child welfare system receive the support and attention they deserve,” said Ana Moreno, Executive Director of CASA of Val Verde. “We are grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for believing in our mission and helping us expand our outreach and volunteer pool to advocate for the best interest of the foster children across Val Verde County.”

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
