
On 11/15/2025 at approximately 8:08 a.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Viesca Street for subjects trespassing a vacant residence without the consent of the owner.
Upon arrival police located a subject in a bedroom of the residence. The male was identified as Julio Andres Veliz; 25 yrs. of age. A search of Veliz’s person revealed a clear plastic baggy containing a crystal-like substance. Officers also located a green vest containing body armor next to Veliz.
Veliz was arrested for the offense of Criminal Trespass and was transported to the police station for processing. The crystal-like substance was analyzed yielding positive for methamphetamine. Veliz was charged with the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B>=1G<4G.
A Computerized Criminal History revealed Veliz had a previous felony conviction. Veliz was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Metal or Body Armor by a Felon.
