Del Rio Fire Department fought flames as they engulfed a pickup truck on North Bedell Avenue around 3:00PM Tuesday afternoon. EMS personnel were not on-scene, and no injuries resulted from the fire according to witness reports.
According to the owner of the pickup, fire personnel suspect the fire was electrical in nature and caused by a problem with the truck’s battery.

The owner of the pickup tells DRN the truck is a total loss.
“I’ll just have to get rid of it. It was paid off anyway.”
Molten metal and ash were left lying in the parking space where the fire erupted. The scene was clear by 5PM.
