This morning, the San Felipe Del Rio CISD community gathered at Del Rio High School for a moving tribute to Michael E. Ramirez entitled “Meet me in the Gym.” The memorial was to honor his legacy, filling the space with love and shared memories as students, staff, and family honored a life who touched many hearts.

During the ceremony, the sky above the high school was filled with blue and white star-shaped balloons—a final, silent tribute from those whose lives he touched. “Mike” Ramirez was a dedicated fixture in the district, serving the community from 2012–2013 and again from 2019 through 2026.
For those wishing to pay their final respects, services will be held this weekend. According to Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, visitation will begin today, April 10, at 2020 N. Bedell Ave. from 4PM to 8PM and A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
