SFDR-CISD DRHS Powerlifting and Soccer Awards

As the 2024-2025 season and school year come to a close, various SFDR-CISD student athletes were honored for their achievements during an award ceremony last week. DRHS athletic director Frenchey McCrea and other coaches presented awards to the powerlifting teams, Queens Soccer, and Rams Soccer.

The awards and players from each team honored are listed below:

DRHS Powerlifting Awards 2024-2025:

Boy’s Lifter of the Year: Joaquinn Fuentes and George Avalos
Girl’s Lifter of the Year: Kailyn Lomas and Chloe Juarez
Mr. and Miss Pound for Pound: George Avalos and Kailyn Lomas
Power Source: Joaquinn Fuentes and Leia Torres
Strongest in classroom: Ezekiel Riojas and Chloe Juarez
Most improved: Jordan Castaneda and Gabby Diaz
Most Points: Moses Fernandez and Joaquinn Fuentes with 35 points
Chloe Juarez: 42 points
Best Total: Joaquinn Fuentes with 1835 and Isabella Valdez with 960
Best Squat: Tadeo Talavera (485 in 123 lb class) and Kailyn Lomas (350 in 97 lb class)
Best Bench: Joe Ryan Meza (475 in 308 lb class) Gabby Diaz (190 in 114 lb class) and Ariah Gonzales (155 in 97 lb class)
Best Deadlift: Luis Rodriguez (610 in 198 lb class) and Isabella Valdez (735 in 181 lb class)
