DRHS Athletic Trainers Attend Student Trainer Workshop in San Antonio

The DRHS Student Athletic Trainers recently attended the Alamo Area Athletic Trainers Association Student Trainer Workshop, held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Trinity University. 

The following message was shared by DRHS Athletic Trainer and Student Instructor, Brad “Doc” Dixon on behalf of SFDR-CISD about the success of the event: 

“This workshop was an excellent opportunity for our student athletic trainers to engage with peers and professionals in the field, all while representing Del Rio with pride. This annual event brings together student athletic trainers from across the San Antonio region to engage in educational workshops and skill-based competitions focused on various aspects of athletic training at the high school level.“The workshop aims to inspire students, expand their knowledge, and enhance their abilities as athletic trainers–ulitmately improving the quality of care provided to student-athletes in their local programs. 

This year, Del Rio High School was honored to take 26 students to the event. These dedicated individuals took part in lectures and contests that challenged their understanding and showcased their commitment to excellence in athletic training. We commend their efforts and remain committed to advancing student healthcare across San Felipe Del Rio CISD.”
