Divine Energy Tattoo celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony and official re-opening of their studio at their new location, 609 S. Main St. on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The celebration featured new Divine Energy Tattoo merchandise, live music from Los de Oro, a detailed dessert table courtesy of Sleeping Lady Bakery, and $40 flash tattoos all day.
The energy was overwhelmingly positive as friends and family filled the place, lines out the door of excited patrons waiting to get tattooed, and city officials and members of the Main Street Program gathered to celebrate with artist and owner Marycruz Salinas and co-owner Priscilla Salinas.
The two decided to move to a larger and more expansive location downtown to join in on the revitalization of downtown Del Rio and Main Street, hoping to add more creativity and art to the quickly growing and bustling area. “We started this business two years ago, this is our second location, and we decided on moving downtown because of how much downtown is growing and we wanted to be part of the growth,” Priscilla Salinas shared.
A little over a year ago, Connect Del Rio sat down with Marycruz after the opening of her initial location where she shared her hopes of growing her team, creating a space for women to feel safe and comfortable being tattooed, and hopefully expanding her studio, all of which she and Priscilla have done in less than a year!
The new location is full of life with murals painted by the artists on the team adorning the walls and their individual stations, artwork and neon signs on display, and tons of space. They have added a whole new and primarily female team of artists to their studio, two seasoned, and experienced tattoo artists, Kolorful Kas – Kassandra Alfaro, Chavo Art – Steven Patino, and two apprentices who will be starting their tattoo journeys soon, Lady Death Art – Lillith Fragoso and My’s Sunshine Tattoo – Mya Ayres.

“It feels like this was meant to happen, we had talked about this a long time ago and always knew that this was what we wanted to do, so it feels crazy that it’s actually here,” Marycruz shared about her and Priscilla’s plans coming to fruition so quickly. “I’ve had this vision for a long time, I feel like we manifested this,” Priscilla added. “I even wrote down new artists, the floorplan, the whole design of this new studio, was part of the vision from the beginning and it feels like it's all falling into place. We’ve been working a long time for this, a lot of sacrifices, obviously money and investments, overcoming obstacles and we’re finally here and we feel like it’s gonna keep growing and expanding from here, adding new artists, welcoming anyone who wants to learn how to tattoo, and just go up from here.”
Reflecting on Marycruz and her journey, Priscilla told us, “from the moment I saw her art notebook and her drawings, automatically I was like, this girl has talent and I didn’t want the talent to go to waste so I decided to push her to do something she loved and make a living with it, so that’s how we started all of this. I believed in her.”
“She pushed me in the right direction, she knew I could do it, put me in the position to do it and I did with her support,” Marycruz chimed in.
Their new hours are Monday-Thursday 12-7pm by appointment only or for consultations, Fridays from 1-9pm will be walk-ins and $40 flash tattoos, and Saturdays 12-5pm by appointment only. Merch, like the Divine Energy Tattoo t-shirts and San Felipe t-shirts inspired by Marycruz’s mural at the Valdez Grocery store in San Felipe will also be available.
