Comstock Panthers Continue Their Winning Streak!

The Comstock Panthers continued their impressive season with a strong showing at the Area Track Meet held in McMullen County, securing multiple spots at the upcoming Regional Meet in Seguin.
The Comstock boys' team placed 3rd overall, with seven athletes competing and five advancing to the regional level. Three Lady Panthers competed on the girls' end, with two qualifying for the next round.
The top four qualifiers move on into the next round--
Regional Qualifiers:
Rockelle Goncalez: 4th in the 300m hurdles
Kennia Lopez: 4th in the 3200m, 3rd in the 1600m
Jacob Allen: 2nd in pole vault
Jordan Allen: 2nd in the 100m, 1st in the 300m hurdles, 1st in the 4x400m relay
Sebastian Talamantez: 1st in both the 3200m and 1600m, 1st in the 4x400m relay
Edgar Crane: 2nd in the 3200m, 4th in the 800m, 1st in the 4x400 relay
Jerry Ibarra: 2nd in the 400m, 1st in the 4x400 relay

Other notable performances feature Kennia Lopez (6th in the 800m), Ashlyn Day (6th in discus), Jorden Allen (5th in long jump), Noah Bahena (5th in the 1600m, 6th in the 3200m), and Mauro Lopez (8th in the 800m, 7th in the 1600m).

Despite the intense heat, the athletes pushed through, determined to move forward. "It was very hot, and the kids showed their courage and resilience to make a great showing," said Coach Lee Abbey. Comstock managed to rack up impressive points with a relatively small team, proving that quality can compete with quantity.
