Saturday, April 7, 2025, the Miss Val Verde Pageant System held its 45th annual Miss Val Verde Pageant at the Del Rio Civic Center, where the new Miss Val Verde royalty was crowned. The pageant was directed by Claudia Lopez.
The Miss Val Verde Pageant has been celebrating women in Val Verde County since 1980, and this year, it featured a Candy Land theme for the event. This event was especially significant, being the first Miss Val Verde Pageant since the friendship pact between Miss Del Rio and Miss Val Verde on April 2, 2025, signed by Miss Del Rio 2024-2025 Andrea Padilla, Miss Del Rio 2025-2026 Evelyn Dominguez, and Miss Val Verde 2024-2025 Audrey Benavides.

The Miss Val Verde Pageant serves as a platform to celebrate and empower women and provides participants with opportunities for personal and community growth and involvement. The winners in their respective divisions move on to represent Val Verde County and Del Rio and hold the ability to make changes that last.

The 45th Annual Miss Val Verde Lineup:
Mini Me Miss Val Verde - Olivia Riojas
Lil Miss Val Verde - Bella Dominguez
Jr. Miss Val Verde - Rebecca Falcon
Miss Val Verde Teen - Kianna Villa
Miss Val Verde - Rae Valencia
Miss Queen City - Ariana Mendoza
Lil Miss Del Rio - Scarlette Marrufo

"Congratulations to all the queens who won... It is an honor as the President of IGNC to witness such great success to our sister pageant. Thank you Claudia for all the hard work you put in and to all who help you achieve great success in both The Miss Val Verde Pageant System and the International Good Neighbor Council - Del Rio Chapter Miss Del Rio Pageant. These two pageants are truly the most historic and longest running pageants in Del Rio/Val Verde County. They deserve all the great recognition and importance that’s received," said Andrew Scarbo, President, International Good Neighbor Council - Del Rio Chapter, via Facebook.

As we celebrate the remarkable achievements made by our new queens, let this event be a testament to the strength, beauty, and resilience of every woman in our community. From now on, each titleholder not only carries the honor of their crown but also the ability to make everlasting change.
